Francisco Manuel Castro, born in San Salvador, El Salvador, has spent his life mastering and sharing his artistic talents, most notably in the areas of musical percussion and sculpture. Since learning percussion since 1971, Manuel has worked passionately, for literally decades, with his congas, bongos, and other percussion instruments. The culmination of Manuel's skill has been the Mastery of the 777 Multiple Percussion System, which is comprised of numerous series of unique, mathematically-derived beats. Copyrighted in 2008,@ El Salvador, Central America. The system has unlimited application and provides musicians an avenue for exploring never-before-tried rhythm variations with Infinite possibilities.
Dividing his time mainly between El Salvador and the United States, Manuel has performed with several renowned musicians worldwide. Playing with the band Aurora - alongside with the famous Salvadorian guitarist Chamba Elias - Manuel performed all over Central America at venues including La Hacienda de Los Miranda, El Chio, Teatro de Camara, and CAESS Auditorium at Metro Centro in San Salvador. Sponsors in his home country have included the Ministry of Culture and Ixnamixin (an association of El Salvadorian artists), Los Amigos del Jazz, and other Central American artist-supporting organizations. He has provided moving demonstrations of his talent to delighted crowds at Catholic University of El Salvador, the Teatro Nacional de San Miguel (an historic landmark in El Salvador), Albert Einstein University, Centro Cultural Salvadoreño, Gallery 91 in San Salvador, and several other locations.
In addition, Manuel performed a solo percussion act using his 777MPS with six congas on an international program televised by Channel 12 and hosted by the late, renowned artist, Raul Vale. The program was aired in Mexico, various countries in Central and South America, and on Latin television in the United States.
Manuel has performed all over the U.S., at cities including Los Angeles, Hollywood, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz. In addition, he has done shows at the Consulate of El Salvador in Santa Ana, California, and was a regular artist for at the Green Circle Cafe and Bar in downtown San Diego. Also within his home city of San Diego, Manuel has entertained at a variety of venues such as the Museum of Man, Organ Pavilion, and World Beat Cultural Center in Balboa Park, and Mesa College.
